Pinned Projects; A New Thing I Just Came Up With

So I have an idea on a way to have a sort of intermediary between members projects in the Habitable Zone and those that have their own subforums. Not everybody can have a subforum, so I've decided that the popular exobiology projects will now be pinned in order to stay active and inspire other members. In the future, some of the pinned ones may even go on to get their own subforums, who knows?

There are a few prerequisites for becoming a pinned project though, you can't just request to be one. These prerequisites are:

  • The project must have over 5000 views
  • The project must have over 200 replies
  • The project must be original and plausible
  • One pinned project per member

I'm going through and adding some I find. Point me in the direction of threads you think me these qualifications.

Original and plausible can be subjective, though. Administrator's decision?

General consensus from the community. If considerable effort has been put into making it plausible, then it qualifies.

Maybe it should be an active project instead of just any projects with a lot of views and comments.

Maybe but who decides what is and isn't active? And what about when people go on a long hiatus for school or whatnot? And as I recall, pinning the Sessbin project made it active again.

I had just posted a few pictures before it got pinned, but I suppose now that it /is/ pinned I have to pony up more. :3 S'all good, never hurts to have a little incentive.

Zarathustra is getting up there, I like Magoo's project so I'd love to see it pinned when it meets the prerequisites.

Hey mate - thanks for the plug.... I love your work too... I wish I knew as much about biochemistry and molecules as you.... I am in awe of your "cellular knowledge" and intimicy with chemistry... :") - I'd love to see some of your projects up there too... you put in the hard yards - I can tell that... keep at it!

I've thought of a new rule as well: Pinned projects that receive upwards of 8000 views and have at least 30 pages will be the qualifications for getting your own subforum.

But then a project could get a sub-forum just by being really really old...

Maybe it has to be updated at least 1 a month or Somthing to get a subforum/pinned project, then when it has that, it can stay there forever

Have you considered pinning the "Skatha: Sapients and other Fauna" project? It has just passed both benchmarks (roughly 400 replies and just over 5000 views), it is certainly an aesthetic gem on this site, and one wonders if Amoeboid would be interested (or perhaps if he'd rather something else were posted).
