| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. Right on!!!!!!!!!! Sir David Attenborough is the best naturalist in existence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have such an obssesion with his work that every month I must watch one of his documentaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's actually so good that I actually use his documentaries as entertainment programming. I also use their music as lullabies because I get really sleepy when watching them. Im yet to see a smartass quip... Well after watching the episode, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Sure it has its problems but it was still good. Although I have to say the series Planet Dinosaur was much better, anyone watch that? |

I've made several in the argument against Neo. Lamna even complimented one of my arguements that had basicly said Neo hated art stylization, and therefore everything. |

I would call that a valid point. A good one at that though ![]() Yeah the one with White Tip, although the problem is that all the scenery had wayyyyy too much grass in it. |

I'd say that, compared to most modern dinosaur documentaries, Planet Dinosaur is quite good. They keep to the facts, they have good reasons, only the slightest bit of re-played stuff (like when Spino was fishing), and the animals have quite realistic behaviour (such as Spino leaving the herds alone when there's fish to catch, and stealing from Carcharo). The only other documentary (that I've seen, at least) that could be described as being good enough to be aired after WWD would be March of the Dinosaurs. Even that's got a few problems (mososaurs living under an frozen-over lake, anyone?) |

I checked it was Zambia, or Chinese Rhodesia as it will be known. And I have to congratulate the show for it's anticlimactic fight. No pointless battle to the death over a carcass. Edited by lamna, Sep 19 2011, 02:42 AM.

I can't agree with this post more. Both Planet Dinosaur and March of the Dinosaurs were awesome. I especially liked their Gorgosaurus It actually had feathers! |

I'd say that MotD has the best-looking tyrannosaur in documentary history. It's both cool and believable. Too bad Planet Dinosaur won't have feathers for the King.

It's unlikely that tyrannosaurs had feathers as adults unless they lived in very cold areas; I can't think of any large animal nowadays that possesses any sort of body covering. It's just not necessary; large animals can regulate their body temperatures just fine. It's only smaller creatures, like dromaeosaurs, that require feathers. |
