Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

So far, I've only seen the trailer, and the pterosaurs seem fine if only extremely cheaply made, but I am pretty sure I will be disappointed as I always am.

I didn't know you could make valid points.

Sometimes Fakey, it's almost like you're a real boy.
Can't tell if Lamna is actually complimenting me, or is being sarcastic.

Damn you Internet and your lack of being able to display sarcasm!

I'm just not seeing it. They do move the camera round a lot, but they didn't seem cartoonish to me.

Of course they're cartoonish. They just look so silly, like they're molded from clay.

Also, the animals move in a really weird way, I guess it could be called cartoonish too.

But then I've actually seen the show, so I can't really judge it like you can.

I've seen enough. <_<

Don´t be fooled by that trailer, Planet Dinosaur is not the sensationalist documentary you probably all think it is.

I´ve watched the first episode on YouTube and while it doesn´t have the CGI quality and great storylines of Walking with Dinosaurs it still does what a documentary is supposed to do: Educate. They always show the fossil evidence behind their dinosaur depictions and the dinosaurs are the most accurate I´ve ever seen in a documentary.

And before you judge the pterosaurs wait for the episode featuring Hatzegopteryx to see how much they get wrong.

They call every carnivore a "killer" over and over again. If you played out a drinking game based on how many times the narrator calls an organism a "killer", you'd be fall-down drunk by the end of it.

That isn't educational. <_<

Dude. These are Brits we're talking about. They have a rather limited vocabulary when it comes to certain situations. This is one of those situations. Australians naturally make better narators because they have like a million words for death and about half of them are related to venom.

Does that stop it from being narated by some stuffy Brit?

Someone go fire that guy and replace him with a Australian.

It's John Hurt narrating. John Hurt has been a dragon. Dragons are better than Australians. Your argument is invalid.

And before you insult our animal program narrators, the best Australian one was seen by his countryfolk as a bit of a buffoon with a stupid accent - rather like Boris Johnson, whilst the best British one is Sir David Attenborough

Australians get into knife fights and say things funny. Your argument is invlaid.

I wasn't refering to Steve. I was refering to one of those guys who was on a doc about the Megalania.

It doesn't matter if he was knighted, I still don't know who he is.

Do not insult Boris Johnson. I like Bozza.

Yeah John Hurt is probably the right guy for it. Did you guys see the space program narrated by Morgan Freeman though, it was an eargasm
