Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Why Can't I Hold All These Mongols?

Atlas Shrugged is indeed a GUILTY pleasure.
I think objectivism is a load of elitist bullsh*t, but I knew some people here would probably like the idea.
as you can tell im very cynical of ayn rand's themes of "everyone who isn't a frontrunner is worthless".
the book wasn't bad, I just thought the author and her beliefs were egotistical

I recently found a guilty pleasure.

Not sure if I feel any guilt though.

It was binge eating.

I used to do it to the point where I'd wind up ill and suffer from severe stomach problems for days afterwards, if I was particularly stressed. I became obese, and have probably permanently damaged my systems from the stress of my sudden ballooning of weight. Thankfully, that's over with, and while I still become painfully "hungry"* when stressed, I've learned coping techniques.

Now it's pornography, and taking walks in the garden with my daughter.

*Hungry in quotes due to not being actual hunger, but just a compulsive desire to shovel food in my trap.

It's taking walks in the garden with a baby. It involves lots of catching bugs and laying in the grass and babbling.

Anywho, I'd have to say I like some new music more than I let on. Namely, a few Lady Gaga songs.
Lady GaGa .. A guilty pleasure .. There's nothing wrong with her nor pop (when done right) .. Please the bitch is the modern pop messiah , plus she's into Bowie, Iron Maiden, Judas Preist, Queen, and she's got a brain and talent (watch her sing on the piano, and see how many music and fashions legends praise her) .. Were a not for her a lot of mainstream acts would still be boring .. I mean wed have a ton more dumb pop stars walking around, were it not for her bringing back the 'art' of pop and entertainment.

As for my guilty pleasures
. Thinking up speculative Earths
. running around like a dinosaur
. Thinking up cruel jokes
. Touching myself
. Being vain XD

Blah blah arguing with Fakey on his opinion.

It's a guilty pleasure if I say it is.

L'évolution Spéculative est moi

I've got a new one: Mass Effect 2. I mean, I just waste hours and hours in this game. I haven't even logged on here in like a week, thank the stars I finished it today.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

All the DLC too?

You'll want to get Shadow Broker and Arrival if you plan on playing 3 when it comes out.

I don't have any DLC. I don't spend money on crap they didn't bother to put in the game. They want me to pay for it, they can put it in the game before it is released.

Well at least get the free stuff from the Cerberus Network.

Stolen Memory is a lot of fun, Kasumi is a great character and it's where you get the Kassa Fabrications Model 12 Locust, suppressed submachine gun, asymmetrical recoil. It is my very favorite gun. I call it Megan.

Overlord has a engaging story and is damned scary first time though, but you could do without it.

But Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival are really worth the money. Together they are like a whole expansion pack, bridging the gap between the Collector Base and standing trial in Mass Effect 3. Arrival was the most emotional thing I've ever done in a videogame.

I suppose Mass Effect could come under a guilty pleasure for me. I've been interested in the game for a while, and when I got a new computer I brought ME1, and I was blown away. As soon as I could I got ME2. I try to immerse myself in the game alot, almost roleplaying my characters Adrian and Helen (Named after Adrian Shephard and Helen Zilwicki). I got all the DLC with story in it and soon after completing it brought two of the novels. I've cooled down now, but I can't wait for Mass Effect 3.
