Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Well done and good luck!
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the Earth.

Congrats! And yeah, same question as dial. What happens at an Islamic wedding? I've been to plenty of Christian weddings and I've seen Jewish weddings on television, but I don't know a think about Islamic weddings.

But anyhow, you'll do fine! Congrats again!

Thanks guys.
Two weeks and I'm officially a married man. Eeek. This is insane!

An Islamic marriage, how do I describe it.
It's made up of two parts:

Nikkah: Simply signing the Nikkah contract, as of that you're married. (In front of witnesses, of course.)

Walima: The ceremony. Usually gender segregated, and at night. To announce the marriage to the community. Kind of like a reception, as a Western equivalent. :)

Right after my wedding, it's Ramadhan again. Time flies. :P

No, it won't be Turkish. We're avoiding the cultural approach. The sister I am marrying is Somali/Kenyan, but it doesn't mean anything to us - nor the wedding.

Fun times.

Just remember that if she doesn't want kids and you do, then you make sure to break the condom. If it's the other way around, then check your condoms daily for breaks and holes.

Right after my wedding, it's Ramadhan again. Time flies. :P
Is it almost Ramadan again? I love celebrating Ramadan, even if I'm not Muslim. I mean, I don't pray or anything but I do fast and eat a bunch of delicious Middle Eastern food when the sun sets.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

Haha. She wants the kids! Like VERY quickly! Wishful thinking on her part! :P
I wanna wait at least a few years.

And yep, Ramadhan is right around the corner. :) August 1st, or thereabouts insha'Allah!!
I feel so unprepared this year, but I do almost every year. But when it comes I just always have to just BE prepared.
