Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I developed the cyodontworld.

Are not extinct mammal-like reptiles of the Permian period at the end, but the extinction of the archosaurs.

What was the fate of certain animal groups?

Gorgonopsid: These are the Late Permian period, the peak at the end of predators. A well-adapted to changed circumstances. Soon spread to the rain forest, savanna and other habitats as well.
Wide range of tolerance which are omnivorous bear-like, a pack hunter cunning and agile predators, like cheetahs fast hunters, but there are species, which conquered the seas.

Dycodont: The time line is we were still prevalent in the Triassic period, some groups have even lived in the Cretaceous period.
In this world, now they are all plant-filled place. There are elephant-sized giants that leaves eaters whose front legs are much longer than the rear, it can reach six meters in length, and another group with hippo-like lifestyle. A common sight in African savannahs herds.

Therocephalia: Since every niche of predator predators gorgonopsid been filled, but a related group of therocephalia soon conquered the northern hemisphere. These creatures from the beginning was the fur coat, and improved air conditioning systems.
The teeth are able to break the bones apart. They are the world's therapsids wolves and foxes, but a group specializing in killing the smaller mammals.

I look forward to more ideas. Now, only these three groups have worked out.
