| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. No you don't, they all has such character. I've not seen it yet but I'd like to see Admiral, a Russia biopic about Aleksandr Kolchak, and Admiral who went on to become the leader of the White movement in the Russian Civil War. |

Yeah, I can't even remember what all the characters I imagined from Harry Potter looked like. Still, can't wait to see Smaug. |

I'm looking forward to the Hobbit - but I'm sad that my favourite Comedian Bill Bailey didn't get a part in it - he was going to be playing Gloin... But I'm hearing all sorts of crap about Peter Jackson interfering with one of our greatest Storyteller's tales - e.g. giving Orlando Bloom $1,000,000 just to make a brief cameo as Legolas (he wasn't in The Hobbit)... by god I hope they don't bullshit up and focus on some love interest of a peripheral character - I HATED THAT bullshit between Aragorn and Arwen in the LOTR movies. I hate it when directors / producers think they can improve on a classic... sure - cut bits out here and there - but don't "add your own"... |

Sounds cool - I'd love to see a modern techni-colour filming of Sholokhov's "And Quiet Flows The Don" - it's one of my favourite Russian novels. It's amazing that he was a "darling" of Stalin, because "Quite Flows..." doesn't pull any punches, and shows both sides in less than a flattering light - but it's quite possible that showing the reds in the South in a bad light, also shows Trotsky in a bad light. |

I don't give a damn about all the alien, war, and fantasy movies. I'm still waiting for Jurassic Park 4. So while you guys are bumtumbling* about boring genres, I'm gonna wait for something good. *Word has no real definition. |

Shame Bill did not get in, as for everything else, well if it needs to be done to make a bigger profit so we get more films, I'm fine with that. I'd like to see a film about the Nikolayevsk Incident or Czech Legions. Or maybe even the the Bloody Baron, Roman Ungern von Sternberg. Speaking of Peter Jackson, anyone else looking forward to seeing what he and Stephen Fry do with Dambusters? |

You have fun with that. I'm eagerly awaiting District 10. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

I haven't even seen Apollo 18 and I hate it with a passion anyway. Why? Because the premise is a secret Apollo mission, and you couldn't launch a Saturn V rocket without anyone noticing, even if everyone in Florida was deaf. It's the spaceflight equivalent of pairing cavemen with dinosaurs...
Unfortunately District 10 won't be out for a while... it hasn't even been announced yet. In the meantime, Blomkamp is working on another sci-fi film, called Elysium, which will star He's also been associated with a found-footage style clip of two guys coming across a genetically modified... thing, on the side of a road, that has been tattoed with "18.12 AGM Heartland Pat. Pend. USA". It is still unknown however as to what, exactly, AGM Heartland, is, although hints point to either a viral marketing campaign or some form of online entertainment. Well you probably could launch a Saturn V without any civilians to noticing. Clear everyone out the way, leak a story about a spy satellite launch, or a deep space probe. Keeping the Soviets quiet, well there might be something to keep it from being announced on their end. I'm waiting to see if there is a good reason. On it's own this would however be good leverage for the Soviets. Send too much aid to UNITA and we'll tell them about that little jaunt to the moon... And One Million B.C and When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth made my childhood. Everyone who want to watch them knows dinosaurs didn't live with cavemen any more than they lived with cowboys, or Iraqi sailors fought Rocs and Cyclopes. I'm looking forward to the 2012 Godzilla, looks like it's going to be interesting, a lot like the 1954 film.
