| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. So I decided to put my photoshop and CSS skills to work and make a custom theme based on SE Estuary, which I have always believed has the best "biology" color scheme. Anyways, I added new icons and such, what do you guys think? I have all the PSD files if I need to change any of the images, so point out any problems. I made the new icons look like cells, if it isn't obvious. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

Nice. I think that someday you should get rid of the Megasquid. Looking at it kills brain cells. |

I do art sometimes. "if you want green eat a salad" Projects: Amammalia: A strange place where mammals didn't make it and the land is, once again, dominated by archosaurs. Oceanus: An endless sea dotted with islands, reefs, and black holes. Literally endless, literal black holes. ❤️❤️~I'm not a boy~❤️❤️ | |

I also add a twitter feed widget above the board. Looks nice. Very informative. |

Oh, I thought you were going to change the theme CSS images ![]() Why don't you just add those icons to Estuary and remove Evolutionary Legacy? |

Because I plan to do more with Evolutionary Legacy. Eventually the only similarity it will have with Estuary is the color scheme. |

Hey, I like the roundedness… except that it's Javascript! Replaced the Javascript with CSS (it's at the end of the style sheet). --EDIT-- If you want, I can give it a similar CSS magic like this theme (should be default theme, if not go to Blue Imageless). Edited by Pando, Mar 28 2011, 03:58 PM.

Ew. Unless you're in IE 7/8 don't see your reason. Javascript is slow (plus loads after the HTML), CSS loads with the HTML. Javascript is so 1 year ago. |

Well I've been trying to do it in CSS from the beginning, but I can't find out how to do rounded corners in CSS. |
