| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

So? It's the animal mudkip is based on. I used to have a bunch of them living in my pond, but they were all eaten by snakes. Yes, that's right; I had real mudkips. |

Guys, I don't think that the meme should be spewed randomly, but making games, such as pokemon, into spec projects requires knowledge, creativity, and imagination. I don't think that it limits an SE experience, that is if the project is scientific and not liekish |

I do art sometimes. "if you want green eat a salad" Projects: Amammalia: A strange place where mammals didn't make it and the land is, once again, dominated by archosaurs. Oceanus: An endless sea dotted with islands, reefs, and black holes. Literally endless, literal black holes. ❤️❤️~I'm not a boy~❤️❤️ | |

That screws most of Fakey's projects..... Actually, I still think Squib's Walking with Pokemon is still pretty cool, it's one game-made-real project that's actually real speccing, but except for that one project I agree with Canis, making video games real isn't really speccing. Unless you come up with something that's TRULY serious and make it a proper spec project with original ideas, it ain't going to do the job. And yeah, the *coughiherduliekmudkips* meme is pretty retarded. Although I actually do use it sometimes; I caught it from other people who always use the meme. I guess I won't be repeating it again unless I want my brain fried.... |

Dial, you should care. Spelling is very important to the world. And both of you lost any respect I've had for either of you. Do you know how FUCKING HARD it is to try and speculate why the hell a Wobbuffet looks like it does? ![]() THIS. THIS. Is the one Pokemon for my version of Pokemon that has caught me in a snag. I've tried making it a large arthropod. Didn't work. I tried making the blue part a decoy and the black part the actual creature. Didn't work. I tried making it a species of cave dwelling beaver. Didn't work. Ice-types are easy. Psychic-types are a challenge. Fuck Psychic-types. Especially Wobbuffet and the Ralts family. Edited by Kamidio, Feb 21 2011, 12:51 PM.

I think Canis you may have been a bit harsh on the pokemon project. sure it may be outside the box, but isn't that the same for everything in speculative evolution? |

That's what Wobuffet is though. That's why its moveset is based on counter and endurance. |
