| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous. Join our community today! |

So far I've only been able to find this one (courtesy of BBC): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L38IHFstBm0 I think it would look great in an epic fantasy battle. |

We once hosted a Maori Buck's Night at our clubhouse - before the strippers came on - all the Maoris, and some of their Pakeha mates, did the Haka. I've seen it on TV, at the start of All Blacks rugby matches - but there's nothing like seeing it 5 feet away - amazing to witness first hand... ----------------------------------------------- edit ------------------------------------------------- Also have read about the German paratrooper invasion of Crete in WW2. Many of the Allied troops left behind after the hurried evacuation, were Aussies and Kiwis. There were two Maori batallions - the German paratroopers assumed there'd be no fighting after dark, but no - at dusk the Maori would emerge, do the Haka, then rush the Germans with a bayonet charge - the hapless Germans were scared shitless, and so would I have been! Do you mean blight? Because the Polynesians would not agree with you, and really it's no better or worse than their native stuff. |
