| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Wait wait wait.... Are you guys suggesting that fungi are not Eukaryotic? ..............okay. Anyway, is the Anus Ripper the result of bioterrorism or did it naturally develop after the initial genetic engineering? |

Oh Fine. Oh hi you! Why don't you go check out the finery that is SGP?? v Don't click v Spoiler: click to toggle | |

Flisch and Holben were talking as if fungi weren't Eukaryotes. |

Oh, excuse me, for some reason I thought one of those posts was you, yes, you're completely correct that they would need to develop organs. |

Bioattractions. They were made in order to provide thrills and give an adrenaline rush to the people of the world. Eventually they were reworked as a way to keep rat and roach populations down. |

Why engineer a fungus when you could engineer an animal a heck of a lot easier? Annelids would be a good start. |

Because a big corperation made the choice to make the creature. Most people think of fungus as scary, so they went with that. |

Again, genetics corporations are going to make something by using the least amount of time and money. Using fungi would force them to use more time and money than necessary. Besides, most people see worms as scary, so that is a really poor argument. |

In the land of the future it could be that worms are viewed as very beneficial and fungi are considered terrifying. It could be a post fungal epidemic world... |

This creature is from Frigidusozoic. Thus, most things important to the project are related to our descendants. So it makes sense seeing as this corperation is owned by my great-grandson. |

Could be. But again, it would be cheaper for genetics companies to engineer worms over fungi. |

Might be messed up. But unless you don't have logic or a brain, the genetics corporation would use worms instead of fungus. They're a hell of a lot cheaper to GE. |

I go by the logic of Shigeru Miyamoto. " A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever" Same goes with fungus made for thrills. |
