| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. To elaborate, I saw a documentary involving plate tectonics that indicates that the Red Sea is expanding, and that Arabia and mainland Africa are moving away. Thus, the Mediterranean sea will connect to the Indian Ocean naturally very soon, at the same time as north Africa collides with the Iberian Peninsula; thus, there will be little to no time for the Mediterranean to dry out. |

Unless, as it rips away from the mainland, East Africa collides with Arabia and blocks off the red sea. What documentary did you see. |

Possibly, but the connection to the sea would be present; as east Africa seperates itself, the Indian Ocean will come from the south, swallowing the great lakes. The Red Sea would not be disconnected from the sea, but elongated, now seperating west Africa from east Africa as well as connecting the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean. Of course, there might be a time in which the Mediterranean might be isolated and ence might become dry, but it would be a very short period of time. I forgot the name, but it was from BBC |

Was it with some weird welsh bloke? I think i might have seen that. So we could have an influx of more tropical marine life into the Mediterranean. |

Caspian Sea would be a good spot. Also, the Black Sea. But short of those small places, I'm not seeing any possibilities in the near future. |

Wales. It'll become a giant plains area dotted with plateus. In about 350 million years. |

No, it won't. In order to be a plateau, the area would have to be under tectonic activity. Which, when the world forms a supercontinent in at least 200 million years, Wales won't have any tectonic activity. Which makes the notion of plateaus nearly impossible. |
