Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Where?
You just trolled i guess.

Biggest biome, and one of the sparsest.
And 'so what' rather than 'say what'. :P

Fakey is annoying me BTW.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

No, I meant 'say what' as in 'you mad'? The taiga is huge, and it is by no means sparse. I'm not sure what you're thinking of, but it's definitely not the taiga that the rest of the world knows :/

I'm saying that are failing Holben, because it's you versus everyone esle on what the Taiga is. We know it as the giant forest the gives Earth a hippie headband. You know it as the barren Tundra, going by your definition.

aiga soil tends to be young and nutrient-poor; it lacks the deep, organically-enriched profile present in temperate deciduous forests.[21] The thinness of the soil is due largely to the cold, which hinders the development of soil and the ease with which plants can use its nutrients.[21] Fallen leaves and moss can remain on the forest floor for a long time in the cool, moist climate, which limits their organic contribution to the soil; acids from evergreen needles further leach the soil, creating spodosol.[22] Since the soil is acidic due to the falling pine needles, the forest floor has only lichens and some mosses growing on it.

Because the sun is low in the horizon for most of the year, it is difficult for plants to generate energy from photosynthesis.

I can't think what you mean. Comapred to, say, sea or deciduous forest or jungle or plains or that kind of thing, sparse is the word i'd have used.
Plus, the ocean floor is a bigger biome and thye final insult is

The term boreal forest is sometimes, particularly in Canada, used to refer to the more southerly part of the biome, while the term taiga is then often used to describe only the more barren areas of the northernmost part of the taiga approaching the tree line.

So don't be so misleading.

1) i didn't provide a definition
2) it's not me versus everyone else, and the earth isn't flat so that's a fallacy anyway
3) stop making obscure references
4) stop attempting to post by rep[hrasing the comments of others
5) just generally stop trolling.

Sliver- thanks for clearing up.

I'm sorry if i seem frustrating, fakey just keeps getting on my nerves...

Yes, in Canada, we (meaning me and my small social circle and family) call the part of the taiga that is in Canada the boreal forest. And I meant it is the largest terrestrial biome, pardon me for not clarifying. The other terrestrial biome's are all smaller, and this is a scientific fact. It makes up 27% of the worlds total forest and occupies 11% of the land area in the Northern hemisphere. The taiga in Siberia alone is the largest forest in the world.

But don't take my word for it, read this and let all misconceptions dissipate. Not trying to be rude (as I know my statements of fact can be taken as such for some reason), but be sure you know the facts (Google exists for a reason) before arguing something.

And if Fakey's comments are bothering you so much, ignore him. It's what I do when I wish to shoot them in the head and then fuck the bullet hole.

Originally a Russian language word meaning "a marshy forest in Siberia" the word has come to mean the circumpolar coniferous forest.
This, i believe, is where problems arose. Whether the taiga is the entire 'boreal forest' biome or just a part defined by the word taiga.

this is a scientific fact.

Well if it's a fact it is scientific.
You didn't need to tell me the rest, it was a definition which caused problems ratehr than a facty thing.

On the contrary, i did read the wiki article. And most of the stuff you find on google is trash.
No, i don't find you rude! I'm hardened by extended stays on other websites. :P
Rational argument is miscontrued by some as cold argument, i know from experience. But if it's true, don't read it as you would interpret a conversation.

I'd really love to, but i simply can't. A personal failing, and a need to uphold a certain vestige of the TOS.
I can't ignore anything.

Plants could do better if not for Rubisco, so why not replace it? There may not be an alternative!
