Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

TheCoon- perhaps we could put a bit more emphasis on our plausible designs? It's rather humbling to see how farfetched your chosen ones are... :dazed:
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

I think we need to mention both plausible and farfetched designs, inorder to be fair. Also, because I enjoy both types.

So? Implausible doesn't mean impossible. So long as there is the slightest hint of plausibility, we must accept that the implausible are just as valid as the plausible.

Also, because a lot of the plausible stuff isn't as exciting or curiosity-inducing as the implausible.

Additionally: You don't like it, write your own damn song.

No... validity is not equally in existence in implausible and plausible ideas. The plausible ones have more y'see.
And why would we have to accept that anyway? baffled.

I'm not convinced. THE UNIVERSE is plausible and cool.

At all your loss, i'm afraid given the choice between song-writing or youtubing the latter is preferred.

:P What can I say? Besides, I am so goddamn sick of hearing people piss and moan about how implausible ideas don't belong on here rabble rabble robble.

If people really don't want implausible ideas, they would have kicked me and my aliens off long ago. And I don't like some people have to being up the whole "Implausible/Plausible" thing at every freakin' turn.

I'm just trying to write a song here. Jesus. No need to get all "IMMA BETTER SCIENTIST THAN YOOOOOU" on this thread.

[/rant]

Anyways, like I said. YOu don't like it? Write your own song.

What belongs on this site is creativity, built upon science. THe world is a strange and bizarre place, from arsenic bacteria to Quetzcoatulus spp., and we are here to make it weirder.

yellow- arsenic bacteria aren't even proven, y'know.

I reckon science should be important in speculation, not just wild though.
