| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Suppose that in the Americas civilization thrived* and that more large animals lived. What could they have tamed? Mastodon? Cuvieronius? *I'm not saying they did not produce some advanced cultures, but for some reason it never took off the way it did in Eurasia. |

yes, and with hooks and spears constantly jabbed in. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Yes. Yes they can. There are various means that a dog can jab a thing in a cage with a spear, say the spear is on a loop and the dog pulls it so as to jab, or it steps on a platform that pushs the spear in. |

..."this"? I remember watching elephants being prodded into playing basketball, it made me kind of sad. Mostly because they probably would have happily done it without the prodding if given a treat afterward. Or in their freetime. After they went to the elephant office to do their elephant job. |

How do you know that? ![]() No the job of the mahout (the guy who rides on the elephant) is to control it. He does this by spurring it like a horse. If the elephant goes on a rampage though he uses his axe to cleave its skull in half from the top. Laavely |
