| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Yeah, the atrocities commited by the Japanese in China and Korea are really, really disgusting. Real-world nightmare fuel. Putting people into a giant blender? What would that even achieve?

There is no such thing as a "European". There is however, Eurasian. Dial, don't be so cruel. I'm sure you've done worse in CoD or Halo. |

If you go by death-toll the Soviets and other communists were worst, but that's mostly because they won. The Germans seemed to have more cruel in specific behind the scenes ways and were worst in terms of motivations, though on the battlefield they seemed generally more decent that the Japanese. And I didn't know Unit 731 experimented on Koreans, I assumed they only worked on Chinese and other people from post-Taishō conquests. I guess all the good work of the Japanese 1895 to the 1930's in Korea can't really balance that out. I think I should mention it looks to me like the cannibalism was a desperate act of soldiers cut off from resupply. Not justifiable, but understandable. If you're starving, do you keep your POWs alive and taking more food from your men, or do you make them useful? |

Ermmm.... Fakey. Virtual violence is not the same as real violence.. and plus, torture is rare in them. Instead of directing attacks at all Japanese, can we direct them at the historic Japanese? i can't imagine that any of them would want that repeated. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Hence why i put Imperial in front of Japan when we talk about the atrocities. And Lamna they really didnt need to keep them alive though while they were taking slabs of flesh off them. That is just horrid being vivisected. They could at least kill the victim... |

This. I absolutely loathe Nazis, but modern Germans have very little in common with the facist years of their country, and disapprove of atrocities committed in their country just as much as anyone else would.
When someone is the aggressor and you successfully defeat them, thus making sure that they don't invade your country, burn down your infrastructure, rape your women and murder your children by the millions. Especially when you do so without causing any of those atrocities yourself... |
