Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Why not just include all reptiles? If you're gonna include boids, might as well include the whole group.

Amphibians means that we would cover all tetrapods.

Can we please stop with these ridiculously broad topics? :|

It's hard to talk about a specific topic if said topic basically boils down to "What may evolve in the future"... on a subforum that basically boils down to: "Post here your ideas for what may evolve in the future."

No offense. >_>

As a whole, probably not. Although we can make educated guesses as to what conditions in the future will be like, and thus what will be likely to evolve, we can't really predict the future of the entire bird group.

Instead, you could try giving us a scenario, and a time, and then we could have a go at predicting some future bird forms.
Eg; 5 million years in the future, during the next ice age - cold European grasslands.

what about european rheas?Do they have future?

They re on many farms, and from lot of farms ocassionaly escape some animals
Now there is population of about 100-300 greater rheas in germany(descendants of escapist from farm)

BTW inventing new clade is hard

This is an old idea, but when I was 8 years old i have the idea about the marmupiade a descenden clade of the mammals.Because predatory reptile are more ravages and bigger than today, almost similar
to dinosaur, mammals were force to carry there young like marsupials. But the infant were born in the mother skin like pimpless or warts. The marmupiade were always in groups of family, the males always protecting the female.
