Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

this project is based off a story i am writing were all life is changed. in the year 2050, scientists go on a mission Black thorn to create perfect organisms. The head scientist, Dr. Dowlen, genetically modifies all life. Then releases them on the world, killing 2 thirds of the human population.

now it is thousands of years later. humans live in small communities, on the edge of survival. the GMs now have evolved and rule the world.

look for the story.

What do you mean perfect? I may be wrong but I believe you cannot have the perfect organism. For example a shark is very succesful in water mayby even perfect in an aquatice enviroment but when its on land it isnt so perfect.

Wouldn't it be better to have highly adaptable organisms rather than "perfect" ones?
Oh Fine.
