| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! is Pitch Black good? I've seen the Chronicles of Riddick, but how's the prequel? |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Actually its a prequel with the Norwegian team that first discovered The Thing. Its going to be great to see what happened at the Norwegian camp before the dog ran toward the original movie's camp. Edited by Toad of Spades, Oct 11 2010, 01:46 PM.

Pitch Black is a really good film, but don't expect it to be too similar to the sequel. As far as I know Aliens is the only Military SF film in the franchise, sure the others have fighting but no military as I remember. The presence of the armed forces is as important as conflict. Speaking of Military SF, anyone looking forward to Ultramarines: The Movie? I'm quite optimistic, it's been written by Dan Abnett who's one of the best 40k writers. I've read the Ravenor Trilogy and it felt very cinematic, if anyone can do Warhammer 40,000 justice as a film, he can. Only a month and a half to go. Edited by lamna, Oct 11 2010, 03:03 PM.

I hope it does well. I'd hate to see it bomb just because people prefer the Blood Angels or Space Wolves, and make it so Games Workshop never make another film again. I'd prefer to see the Imperial Guard myself, but I'm happy just to be getting a 40k film. |

Nout wrong with that. I'd like to see more serious adult animation. You can tell a lot of stories that would be ridiculously expensive to film in live action. Plus you get rid of the fact that CGI still does not blend perfectly with the live stuff. With it it all being animated you level the playing field and can get on with the story. I think it's going to be released straight to DVD, but if it will get a theatrical release too, I don't know. |

It already happened in February. Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic was quite enjoyable. The way they jumped between art styles was a bit distracting though. |

Who knows what the Bioshock film will be about? Now Infinity is coming out it's clear that the only thing linking the franchise together is that people can throw bees/crows at each other as well as shoot them. |
