Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Speaking of Sherlock Holmes movies, I did enjoy the one with Robert Downey Jr.

The sequel should be excellent. Mycroft! Finally!

Never seen Donnie Darko and from Tim Minchin's song, I'm not that interested.

That's a good summary of the movie's superficial plot points, but it completely glosses over the deeper psychological elements. Still, if you're not interested you're not interested. I'm just saying it's good.

Yeah that's not really my cup of tea. That kind of thing is ok, if it's not the point of the story. Same with romance, it can be enjoyable, but generally not if that's the whole point of the story.

Galaxy Quest. Full stop.
James and the Giant Peach. You must wean your children on this.

Screw that horrible Star Trek parody with Tim Allen. I prefer Spaceballs.

Hey, let's not start attacking each other based on what we like. Everybody's allowed to like the movies they like for their own reasons.

I only saw a little of Galaxy Quest, but I liked what I saw. I expect I'd enjoy it more now if I saw it properly.

Prisoner of the Mountains is a pretty good film, about two Russian soldiers captured during the First Chechen War. Speaking of POW's the Great Escape and Bridge on the River Kwai are great films.

If i had to recommend one film to everyone, it'd be Serenity.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

Shepherd died a little strangely too. The fight wasn't even on screen.

Yeah I think they did a whole season in comic form.

Say, anyone know of a good warfilm where the characters aren't wimps or psychopaths made recently?
