| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I can indeed argue with that. Britain may have once been the world's only superpower, but it has long since faded from prestige. Its still an influential nation, but nowhere close to the most influential. |

Well yeah, I kind of forgot about the blitz. But still, you were never occupied, right? *checks history book* And as for pre-american time britain, if you are referring to the celts, then yes, very interesting. If you are referring to castles, I hate castles. I even made a video explaining why. but you really should ignore my opinions in this subject area, I just find history boring when it has to do with aanglo-peoples. |

Herstory is a stupid word, the "His" in history is not derived from "His" as in male possession. Herstory makes as much sense as saying snakes "hers" or people with allergies take antihertamines. And England has been invaded many times, even the Celts were invaders. We were last invaded in the French revolutionary wars where the French under the command of an Irish rebel launched a diversionary attack to draw British troops away from Ireland. It failed miserably. British territory was last occupied in 1982 when the Argentina tried to conquer the Falklands, and British Isles were last occupied in WW2 when the Nazis invaded the Channel islands, which were occupied for the duration of the war in Europe, and slightly after. And what's not to like about Castles? Edited by lamna, Sep 11 2010, 10:52 AM.

no, no, no, i meant nazi occupation. I consider the french to be just like the brits and americans when it comes to boringness, so being invaded by french is just double boring. And being invaded by the celts, you kind of did take their land, so you kind of deserved it. And the celts are interesting, so interesting prevailing over boring equals win. My sense of history and how it works is messed up. |

I actually don't like western history that much, especially past the Romans. My favorite area is the study of lands involved in the indian ocean maritime trade.

Herstory is an incredibly funny word though. We, the Anglo-saxons of the Mainland British Isles, have only been invaded proper twice. Though the Channel Islands are a bit of a blip. Castles were fun until some jerk came along and made a cannon.
No land has its native people anymore except Africa. Massacres have happened so many times in history they are in everyone's blood. And we can't change the past. And the Czechs are still incredibly racist to the Romanian peoples. Non-technically, neither am I in one of those countries. Although i don't really like countries in Europe i'm sad to say. Oh wait... Britain is in Europe. Well, it shoiuldn't be. We've never been invaded by the French proper. But they are boring, yes. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

you mean Romanian as people from Romania?no i know what u mean, they re called gypsyes.DOu ever seen them? They live in ghettos in garbage, have lot of children, stole everything etc.they re big problems in Czech republic and easterb european countries(not alll gypsies are like this, one friend from school is gypsy too,but thats very rare exception) people hate them because theý re thiefs, rapist, they dont work, but they have high benefits. I check sometimes BBC website and i see that there is sometimes written about ,,racist,, attacks to gypsies here, but they dont write about gypsi attacks to other people which are far more common, this summer two gypsies attacked a 10 years old boy because he dont want give them his mobile,he was almost dead next time please dont write about things about which you knwo nothing Edited by Ook, Sep 11 2010, 01:58 PM.

The Siege of the Alcázar shows castles are still tough as hell. Never heard of Czechoslovakism? All nations have dark parts to their history. And I thought the Romany got shit over there. Edited by lamna, Sep 11 2010, 02:02 PM.

Indeed it is. I will ask you, Pedobear, to refrain from making such comments In fact, this topic in general is beginning to slide towards the "my country is better than your country" route. Whilst people can post the history of their country, and take pride in it if they wish, there is no need to compare the histories and countries.
Depends how far back you want to take that. The original inhabitants of Europe were Neanderthals, weren't they? There may possibly have been incidents between them and H. sapiens. |
