ok, i'm new here so don't kill me here. anyways, me and my friend have had this idea of predicting what earth would be in 100 million years time. 1. part of euraisa and north america would be connected, while the other half of euraisa would be seperated by a shallow sea. south america would one again be an island, and africa has been split into 2 parts. australia and antartica would once again be connected. 2. on the southern continent, keas, being intellegent and curious, rose to the nitche of top predator when their main compeditors, the mammals, have died out, and the apperance of gargantuan herbivores that provided a food source. (this is my first time.) in the pelagic regions of the oceans, fish are stalked by swift, ocean going salamanders. these predators take the nitche of the marlinsof the present day. ok, that's all for me today. if anyone wants to help me with this, just reply. |

i'll put the climate of new lauraisa. the part of lauraisia that is connected to north america has praries scattered around the contenent, with coniferous forests at the poles, and temperate forests at the southern coasts. here, the mammals reign un- hurt by the climate. here, bears, canids, mustelids, and predator rats reign supreme as top predators. the main herbivores are ungulates, rodents, and lagamorphs. species coming in next post. |

The two island that were once Africa hold 2 entirely different fauna. One part, the part that once contained a part of lybia, morocco, and French guni now is at the center of the equator, and it is very hot and humid. Here, amphibians dominate, but there are also reptiles, and to a lesser extent, birds. Amphibians found it easy to conquer this humid, hot, island. The reptiles take secondary niches, like rodent niches. The birds remain confined to the coasts, because giant insects, ranging from sparrow to kestrel size, dominate the lesser bird niches. The hawks have managed to become aerial hunters. The reptile island, however, contains the rest of the African continent. It is very dry here, and the reptiles like it, and dominate. Here, neoreptilimorphs have re-evolved from land amphibians, like salamanders and frogs. Land crocs, have re-evolved in a similar way to the ones in gondwannaland2. Giant monitor lizards and land crocs are top predators. |
