Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

ok, i'm new here so don't kill me here. anyways, me and my friend have had this idea of predicting what earth would be in 100 million years time.
1. part of euraisa and north america would be connected, while the other half of euraisa would be seperated by a shallow sea. south america would one again be an island, and africa has been split into 2 parts. australia and antartica would once again be connected.
2. on the southern continent, keas, being intellegent and curious, rose to the nitche of top predator when their main compeditors, the mammals, have died out, and the apperance of gargantuan herbivores that provided a food source. (this is my first time.) in the pelagic regions of the oceans, fish are stalked by swift, ocean going salamanders. these predators take the nitche of the marlinsof the present day.
ok, that's all for me today. if anyone wants to help me with this, just reply.
Projects and concepts that I have stewing around
Extended Pleistocene- An alternate future where man died out, and the megafauna would continue to thrive (may or may not include a bit about certain future sapients)
Inverted World- An alternate timeline where an asteroid hit during the Barremian, causing an extinction event before the Maastrichtian. Dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and notosuchians make it to the present, along with a host of other animals.
Badania- Alien planet that has life at a devonian stage of development, except it exists in the present day.
Ido- Alien world where hoppers (derived flightless ballonts) and mouthpart-legged beasts are prevalent.
Leto- Life on a moon orbiting a gas giant with an erratic orbit; experiences extremes of hot and cold.
The Park- ???
Deeper Impact- a world where the K-Pg extinction wipes out crocodilians, mammals, and birds; squamates, choristoderes, and turtles inherit the earth.
World of Equal Opportunity- alternate history where denisovans come across Beringia and interact with native fauna. Much of the Pleistocene fauna survives, and the modern humans that end up crossing into North America do not overhunt the existing animals. 10,000 years later, civilizations exist that are on par with European and Asian societies.
The Ditch- Nothing is what if seems..

Lemuria should be farther out since it separates in about 3 million years time. Also, what's the island chain east of N America?

it kinda is, except scale the moa to the size of mammoths, and the added fact that the camels from australia are now the largest land creatures on gondwannaland 2, being the size of a medium sized sauropod. there are other top predators here, including several species of land dwelling crocodile that live in the tropics. but, a few live in the temperate regions, hibernating in the winter. dingos also inhabit these areas, though tackling smaller prey. the keas have a social system akin to lions of the present day, with 1 very important difference. they live in prides of 50 animals or more, the most being the females and the chicks and addolecents. if you want me to continue or want to help me improve, i will be glad to accept.
Hm...what's the reason for all of these sudden increases in size? Something happen to plants that's caused a revolution akin to the Carboniferous?

And on the camels... there's new evidence that saurapods could only get as big as they did due to air sacs in their lungs, which halved their weight. Don't know how that would work with a camel.

Lemuria?
Lemuria is the common name for the microcontinent that will come when East Africa splits from West Africa.

Oh, I didn't know that. Now that you mention it, that makes sense. I also should probably move California a bit West, and I forgot to add in Antarctica. Give me a sec...

California shouldn't be on the map. It will move north and get subducted near Alaska.

Really? I always assumed it would go North-West. I'll add it as a peninsula.

great! awesome! ok. the climate for lemuria is tropical grassland. the northern hemisphere is cold at the poles, but in the middle, it's temprate. and, at the coasts, it's tropical. in this land, mammals rule, though the predatory keas have island hopped and are competing with the main carnivores, the carnivora.

ok, i will be posting the animals now.
Name: Harrotavis
Weight: 200 to 300 pounds for the females, 400 to 500 pounds for males.
Height: as tall as a grown man
Modes of attack: they fly on their victem's back and, with the help of their claws on their wings, and their unmatched intelligence, allow them to attack the titanemu and the bracheocamelus.
