| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Spore isn't really a single genre, but you can kinda classify it like that. the Sims... i've seen far too much abuse of the game to appreciate it any more. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

What kind of abuse? And what's wrong with Chaos. They are great villeins? Warhammer 40,000 wouldn't be Warhammer 40,000 the game needs an an internal enemy. Without them it's just your average space marines vs aliens. Edited by lamna, Sep 16 2010, 02:09 PM.

Like creating a family of two unrelated teenagers (by killing their parents) to unscrupulous reasons? Or filling a house with wooden furniture and barbecues? Or making a hideous old man live alone in a tiny shack and sending him insane? Or creating your friends and nemesi and making them live in a house and duke it out? |

Um...You can already get those expansions. Imperial Guard is my favorite faction, since they're the least ridiculous out of all the factions. And also WAAAGH ORKS |
|
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

Ahhh yes, dawn of war, that was a good game @dial,even though some people don't like the chaos as they are a bunch of spacefaring demonic,blackmagic-practicing elite warriors something that wouldn't happen anytime soon. however, in rts games like Dawn of War 1 & 2, Chaos adds a lot more balance, effectively keeping dawn of war 2 away from the 'company of heroes' dilemma (when one faction has nearly every advantage over the others) |

The Guard are my favourite faction too, just normal guys going up against aliens that want to devour galaxies and daemons who want to destroy everything with just courage, tanks, brave commissars to keep up moral with their heroic actions and father-like concern for the men under their command and of course, an unshakable faith in and devotion to, the God-Emperor of Mankind.![]() Edited by lamna, Sep 16 2010, 04:45 PM.

Mass Effect looks like a pretty good game and a interesting universe. Can't beat the world of Honor Harrington in my book though. Speaking of which, if this ever comes out it looks pretty interesting. http://www.honorverse.com/ |
