Also, this one is double news. Syndicate, the founder of GForce, has reviewed SE and we got 4/5 stars! Here is the review: Syndicate's Review First Impressions: My first impressions were mixed; Your board had some users online which was good, and the layout seemed very easy to navigate and was kept strictly to the point with a good amount of sub-forums to organise your topics. The board loaded quickly too. However, I'm not the biggest fan of the themes simplicity, but that's more of a personal opinion than an overall judgement of the forum. Overall, good job. Star Rating: 4/5 Forum Layout: As said above the layout is nice and simple with a good amount of sub-forums to organise everything appropriately. The only strange thing for me is that at the top of the board you have a forum named "Welcome" with a single topic, yet at the bottom of the board you have "Member Introductions". I'd maybe suggest moving the "Welcome" topic into Member Introductions. Star Rating: 4/5 Forum Activity: Activity is decent, you have some members online, you're over the 200 mark for registrations, and you almost have 100,000 posts with 198 posts made today (which is currently more than the ZNR by the way). I'll give you a nice score for this, probably one of the most under-rated forums around the network; you're doing a really good job here building a community and I don't think people fully appreciate your hard work, considering it's a difficult genre indeed. Star Rating: 4/5 Forum Staff: I see one staff member online which is good and he has 5400 posts, which is excellent. Your other staff members have a high post count too, which tells me they're active. I had a look around the board and their posts seem decent too. Good job on your promotions. Star Rating: 4/5 Forum Look and Feel: This is probably where it goes down hill for me. I love the board, the community seem really nice, it's easy to navigate and your staff team seem really good. However, the board just doesn't look professional to me, or very appealing in general to my personal taste. It's a clever idea, and you have a nice selection (I went immediately to Red Cyclone!), but the banner didn't really match it. Again, this is more of a personal thing than a big issue, so I wouldn't worry too much. Star Rating: 2/5 Improvements and Advice: New custom skin for future? More professional looking maybe? We could maybe help with a print. Combine the "Welcome" with Introductions. Fix graphics on other skins (Red Cyclone banner etc). Final Statement(s): Again, you've done a really good job, I'm impressed. I think your community is worth checking out, and if you fix the few things I've mentioned it'd be gold (in my opinion). Keep it up! Final Rating: 4/5 And other changes: Theme Changes: SE Estuary has been revamped for the 3rd time. You should find it even closer to the original, although I added somethings to make it look better. SE Coniferous and SE Black Fire has had the "SE" part removed, since I didn't really make it with SE in mind. More for personal fame at ZNR and GForce. Dust Storm has been removed (it was just so flat and ugly). SE Spring Rain has been revamped, finally. Although there are no images to make it look better (since I have no idea what it used to look like) I have restored the hex codes to what they used to be. SE Estuary got the topic icons from SE Spring Rain (the stuff to the left of the topics in forum view). And finally... the highlight of the update... SE Annus Mirabilis! I've decided to take a look at Shifty's print and found out how easy it was to restore the images. It looks so much better now that I've decided to make it replace Estuary as the default theme. It's also getting Spring Rain's topic icons. Other Changes Deliberation and Biomes and Classification has been merged into the main Rewriting Earth forum. The board stats time has been moved from 15 to 20 minutes. It should make SE look more active without really cheating.

So I can start getting to work on the banners soon. If anyone can give me good stocks of spec evo animals, then it'll make the job a whole lot easier. If you can make a print, I'll be happy to code it into a theme. The promotions aren't mine - all the global mods were staff when I joined. Should I just get rid of the guest forum? I think that would be a good idea. What's underrated? Another thing - by using the same method to restore a lot of colors to Estuary, I've done that to Spring Rain. It's usable now!

Given their focus/interest, I understand why these guys are focused on the looks of the forum (as opposed to what it's actually about), and I'm willing to help with themes from time to time if you want, but I hope you won't be getting rid of what exists now (at least Red Fire).

I'm working on doing the graphics for Annus Mirabilis so that it'll be worth using. Also, for instance the Red Fire banner doesn't work in Red Cyclone - but it wasn't made for Red Cyclone. There needs to be one made.
