| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! But their lonely behaviour and mandibles incline them to a hunter-which-eats-rodents-eggs-and-insectivores niche. Their scavenging abilities come from following wolves and other carnivores. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

In England we have lots of escaped species, muntjac are a good example also there are rumours of big cats living in the moors around the south of England. They could easily live there undetected there is pleny of food and space. Also elephants could easily bounce back in the southern states of America, they used to live there why not again? |

No, but that's what makes hyenas so good at scavenging. Coyote mandibles to bone crushing? How? |

I know about borophagines. They're the dogs which evolved crushing teeth. But they are seperate from these dogs, and were in different circumstances. |

It isn't impossible, but it's unlikely. There's no niche for them. |

I hope you are joking. Do you know how big, strong and intelligent a hyena is? Those animals even have politics, while wolves are still just a hive mind controlled by a breeding pair. Sir, you did no homework regarding the social structures of pack hunters, let along any research on hyenas. Seriously, even on today modern striped hyenas wipe out their wolf competitors on the middle east! |

Really, the only creature that is kept captive by humans today that has a chance of surviving past our existence is the housecat, and even then, most of them will die. |

domestic cats are more wild than domesticated..it s very likely that north america will have in near future many species of small cats(like old world) which were descendants of feral cats |

I was joking and exaggerating in some areas, but it's stretching it to call them a hive and-or inferior in social politics. Yes, they do. In the middle east, where it's hot. Wolves do far better OOP NORTH. |
