| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. I think its pretty onvious deer are very likely to survive. What is really interesting, however, is the mechanics of the future evolution of ungulates in America. Assuming deer and the pronghorn inherit North America after mankind is gone, deer will stick to the forests while pronghorn dominate the plains. Deer will offer no competition for pronghorn because they are slower and because they loose their antlers for a good part of the year, while pronghorns keep their horns always. The only way pronghorn will disappear is if the antelopes manage to survive, and even then pronghorn have proved to be very versatile. That, combined with the fact no antelope introduced in North America is really analogous to the pronghorn, pretty much means they will be fine. And really, I think the faster pronghorn will be more prone to survive. Eventually, if the temperatures increase in North America, deer will prevail over the other ungulates, as mentioned before. |

Yah.....I think that possibly pronghorns may get back to beautiful forms they had in the past....Kudu like fourms, medium sized grazers, and small fast runners. |

At the very least I can expect some small, Dik-dik like forms. |

Yah.....ok 1. Dik Dik Like Forms(As John said) 2. Gazelle Like Runners 3. Large Kudu or Cattle Like Forms Imagine looking over the future American Savannah with all those species of Pronghorns |

Ohhh....well there can be at least large antelope analoges....Elephant and Rhino analoges of Pronghorn are very unlikely....leave that up to escaped zoo elephants if they manage to surive on the prarie. |

ehh i dont mean they must be descendants of proghorn(or deer or antelope) i think that there is too small population of elephants in north american zoos,as well as that population will be very small,so they could survive for some years, but as species, they have no future in NA |

there is species, which could survive, but elephants are too unlikely..some big cats, giraffes at south, many ungulates and even marsupials could survive almost all zoos have tigers, lions or leopards and they could survive in many enviroments and thank to their big teritories and reproduction rate.. |

yeah and after they go wild, they will hunt first escaped antilopes ![]() i think that tigers and leopards could live mainly in temperate and boreal areas of north america and in warmer parts they will be replaced by lions and jaguars(but evolution is evolution, there could be easily only descendants of leopards,or jaguars pwn them all ) |

I think that either the cougar or the escaped leopards would eventually replace the other felines, since they are more adaptable. However, for a while escaped megafauna as well as bisons will allow the survival of lions and tigers; probably for the next one or two million years |

Thinking well, it would probably either mean the death of the native cougars and jaguars, or the death of introduced leopards and tigers |
