| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! And air defence if it has any business taking over the world. I suggest a nice dyke, and some Czech hedgehogs, preferably made out of the severed limbs of their robotic comrades. Slovak hedgehogs will do in a pinch. |

Mybe we could try just bombing them? Cluster bombs will do fine. ANd their drones can be countered by AA guns. Any bases ? Just fire thiousands of ICBMs. |

Maybe we could engineer some kind of computer virus and send it to the transmission stations. However if they operate on independant systems rather than a collective signal, then computer viruses would be impractical. Or we could we could find some way to destroy their power sources and the factories that produce them. |

And do you have access to ICBMs? Can you make viruses? If you did or could would you know what to do with them? No. Get back to digging my redoubt peons, unless you want your rations cut. I'm sure the rest of the 'vacuees would appreciate having your share. |

Have you ever dropped a computer in a swimming pool? It'll stop working fairly quickly... Admittedly it's a case of There Will Be No Waterproofing In The Future. Any respectable combat robot would be rugged and waterproof, and throwing water on a Terminator won't work at all because they're designed to be covered in meat... |

If it makes you all feel safer I'll make you divert a stream so it flows into the ditch and forms a moat. But really, water is not going to be a useful weapon against robots, any more than acid is against people. |

I dont get why they don't just generate an EMP in terminator, saves alot of time and surely after all the nukes the EMP would just destroy all those robots anyway |

I imagine they were designed so an EMP wouldn't damage them somehow. |

You cannot be wave resistant they travel in air so no nothing can really be EMP resistant |

You can be insulated against EMPs. But only to an extent. |

Or their design was made to so EMPs would have a limited effect. |

You can insulate electronic pretty well from EMPs. Plus, can you build a device that can discharge a useful EMP? How will you weaponise it? And what damage to your own side is this going to cause? And more importantly, why aren't you digging? |

So, we have a choice- nukes or hiding. I think i'll ransack the control bases of the world and unleash nuclear hell. |

Getting robots stuck in ditches and smashing them to pieces is not hiding. Though hiding would be an important part of it, I suggest copying the techniques used by the Bielski Brothers in evading the Nazis and the Baltic anti-communist resistance movements during WW2. Not too sure how to hide from thermal imaging an infra-red though. |
