Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

The Future is Barbaric

15 million years from now, this world looks very different. The resulting Global Warming of Yester Year, has put the Planet on a collision course against itself, in an attempt to reset. As the world heated in the Human Era, attempts at cleaner fuel choices failed, and ultimately the world grew warm, and dry. The Oceans heated, and frozen Methane erupted to the surface resulting a small Ice Age. The result of the madness? The HC-Extinction. Humans died out, as they fought each other for water and various other items. The Final Humans hung to rivers, and eventually died out. The mini Ice Age, would soon send the world into a new era of life, one that is man free. A stronger, and greater Ice Age ripped the planet, but things are set to warm as the final throughs of the Ice Age begin to leave, and a hotter era will soon start, that in turn bringing its own extinctions along.

--

Hi, some of you may remember my last two project, which evidently died out as life got in the way of both. However, I have free time now, for a while, and plan on making a return. This new project; The Future is Barbaric, follows life on Earth 15, 95, and 195 million years into a future after the brought on death of Humanity. This Earth at the starting year, 15 myh, is at the end of a Ice Age, the world is slowly heating, but for now it is relatively cold. Reptiles have taken a massive hit in the Ice Age, and Amphibians hold on to the brink. If there was something on the endangered list during the humans time, then it is extinct. Some large mammals died out during the Human Era, other during the Ice Age. This however, left niches open. And this world is still a world dominated by Mammals.

EDIT:

The World 15 Million Years Hence

Thankyou for the warm welcome! :D

Well I am going to take this in a format. First I pick a continent, then I pick a biome.

For example, I would pick North America, and then Northern Tundra. The Northern Tundra on the first part ranges from the North pole, down to north central Canada? Anyways, I would pick an area, and go from there.

I have decided on North America first, so what biome would you like me to start on first.

Northern Tundra, Grand Taiga, The Rocky Alpines, Eastern Forests(Deciduous), the American Desert, the Panamanian Grassland, and Creeping Grassland(an area of grassland creeping into the American desert as water levels rise again, and water comes closer.)

Yes I do Canis!

Thats one vote for Tundra.

Oh and Atek Azul thanks for the welcome back, however there are no swamps at the moment, I mean well, they are in southern Florida and Lousianna, they are quite big, but their are cold. And they arent exactly the typical swamp, they to have evolved into a deciduous forest with a swamp under. Understand me?

Well sorry to throw another biome into the vote but I am really intrigued by the creeping grassland.
