Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous.

Scythers are very intelligent, and would notice the wake the worm leaves. The mawworm- what is its armour made of? If it's reactive, the acid and toxins will melt straight trhrough it. Scythers could withstand the digestive juices, and their subcutaneous 'chainmail' would sort out those meddling teeth.

From the Scyther vs. Mawworm.
Quote:

Scyther has toxin-injected metal compound scythes which are also used to get rid of waste heat. It has poisonous claws along its neck and legs. It drools acid, and its teeth are metal compound. The skin and inside of mouth are shielded from the acid by a small layer of oily mucus.

from Scyther vs. dragon

It operates singly usually, but if it spots a large animal it can give its famous 'SKREEEEEEEEE!' call, and sometimes other prowling scythers will come to join in the glorious slaughter. They aren't preyed upon except when a weak or old one can be attacked by a draco or eyenos. If a Infernoworm rises beneath it, it'd be pretty hard for the scyther to survive. It lays eggs in nests within the bark of trees, scouring gaps with its scythes and deploying using an ovipositor. Scythers can be male, female, or infertile, due to widely variable sex genes.

Thanks for the info Holbenilord! I need to find a good place for Scyther. Maybe in the forest of Molochs.

Glad to be of service! I can get a picture if you want...

Just add some dracoversian creatures, dude.
You got my permission.

I've recently added both flying and flightless pterosaurs. So, if you want to use the Ropen, the Kongamato or the Popobawa, you have my permission.
Waiting to see your graphic novel. And in case you need an artist, you can count on me.

Since it seems you want the Possumena, feel free to use that nightmarish opossum. Tell me what else you would want.

Both.

Kongamato, Popobawa and the ropen are classic pterosaurs. Others like the Amphisbaenids are flightless.

They look like nasty little fellas...

If you want more worms, or predators with reflexes twelve times faster than ours, i can give 'em.

A swarm of monstrous creatures coming through a gateway, or something?
