| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! This is why i don't give suggestions. Someone else comes with a more comprehensive list.

True, although Ammonite wouldn't have created his list if I hadn't suggested a list in the first place. |

Sorry, I can't add descriptions to all those right now. Most of them should be on Wikipedia so you can make a head start. Otherwise you are going to have to wait a bit. |

Descriptions for all of the terms have been added now, and any new terms that I post will have descriptions for them too. I apologise if I was a bit snarky in my last post. I was just a bit overwhelmed with the request for definitions and I didn't have the time to put them in at that moment. If I may make a suggestion, we should keep our eyes out for terms that forum members tend to use often and put them in here so that they can be understood more easily. I realize that many of those terms have already been brought up but I also notice terms used on the forum from time to time that are not yet listed. |

Ddraig Goch, would you mind if I made the glossary a webpage with a link to it in the portal? |

Thank you very much, Ammonite. You've certainly made an exhaustive list. And, sure, go ahead, Pandorasaurus. Remember to credit both myself and Ammonite. ![]() |

I've made a webpage from this! http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/pages/se_glossary Tell me what you think of it. I'll eventually have this linked in the portal. |

It's alright, but a bit hard to read. Also, the words at the start have capitals, but those at the end don't. It could also do with sorting into "categories". I'll happily do that if you want. |

That would be awesome if you could sort it into categories, but please bold the words because it's much easier to just copy the text from the page source than have to do the HTML formatting for all those words. I could add a second break to the words if you want. I can capitalize Holben's words right now. |
