| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! If it will be legless then it'll still have it's body. And have you thought about the females? How are they supposed to get pregnant if the area is in the skull? |

Please, just take out the fusing, keeping it snake-like and I won't argue. |

But there are just so many genes for 1 pair of legs. The chances of all those genes doubling and genes for the body lengthening would be too rare, and even then the mutated individual can't mate with its parent species. So no hexapods from tetrapods. |

We've got triped birds and starfish ruling the Earth. This doesn't seem like it'll be completely compatible with the parameters of Earthly life. |

What did I say? Starfish cannot live on land! Even if they were to find a way to bypass their water vasculatory system, there's still the problem that everything on land is becoming more and more intelligent. Their lack of brain will stop them from ever leaving the water. And the tripod birds are implausible too. I've given like, what, 10 arguments against it? Is no-one listening to me? |

Meh, not in particular. Sorry, Pan, but it seems this project is less about making it plausible, and more about making it weird and cool. |

Was that deliberately three?Weird and cool can be compatible with plausible, see wolves on Earth and Djerean Scythers. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

firstly, starfish arent achived dominance on land because the starfishes evolve into new group before going on land they also retain small with very few exceptions |

Okay... that's not a reason. If you were to give an explanation of the group maybe it'll be plausible. Besides, echinoderms are perfectly adapted to their niches. Please don't tell me that you only want it because TFIB had them. |
