Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous.

Later, Holben, later. But just for you to know that would be 11 members right now.

Meh. So how many active posters are there?
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

IDK. There's people like Viergacht who have over 300 posts but left, so we can't really tell. Unless someone will spend a few days checking through the member list.

Neither can I. I might be here often, but not that often. But I can attempt to do so soon, after tests and whatnot.

Don't worry, I'll probably give you a link to watch the Vampires of Venice (love zShare). I've made a page of my board where I plan to embed all the doctor who episodes.

I get it tomorrow at 7 too though. Shouldn't be much trouble with BBC three.

Lucky. I can only watch BBC America, where everything premieres 2 or 3 weeks late.

But everything on the BBC website is only for UK residents! BBC makes me want to move to the UK.

For some reason the validating class never had any deletions, and there is 30 validating with no activity in a month. Can I delete them too?

I think for now it's okay, we go rid of nearly a third of our members. They skewed our statistics, but I do want to leave them skewed a little. There's nothing wrong with fooling people into thinking we're more popular than we really are... Besides, I still have hopes that some of these people will return. If they were interested enough to make at least 20 posts, then chances are they'll get interested again if they ever find their way back here. Though I do hope to someday soon build my own server and start hosting this site myself, rather than be hosted by zetaboards. We'll have more flexibility that way, and we will be more popular as we'll be our own site rather than technically part of zetaboards. Plus, I can sell adspace and make some money (most of which will probably end up going back into the site for server maintenance and the cost of hosting a domain). Should I ever do so, I will probably go in and manually delete inactive members to free up space.

EDIT: Yes, get rid of the validating members. If they didn't even bother to validate their account then they're obviously not coming back.

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

For the validating accounts: I'll delete them when I have time, but they don't show up to members and guests. I think only mods and admins can see them, so they don't skew the statistics.

For the own server: There's always Zetaboards Premium where we can get our own website, and if someone enters the current URL they'll be redirected to the website, if we can't pay anymore then we just get back to the default URL and only people who are doing the website won't be able to access it. And the ads will be gone, which people have problems with (I just blocked them).
