| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Yes, they can. Their body plan is more for herbivory, and since hypercarnivores (like theropods) have evolved into pure herbivores (therizinosaurs), it's possible. You could try coatis as carnivores. Wait, that's a good idea. I allow you to use it, but don't expect that I won't use it when I do 25 MYF South America. |

i have only few concepts for birds, but there will be many flightless forms bird concepts that i have prepared -some corvids became carnivores(but still nor hypercarnivores) and much later they produce many forms, icluding argentavis sized killing machines -Marabu stork succesfull survives age of man and later became flightless hyeana analogue -rheas become gazelle and antelope analogues in south america, there is possibility of giraffe rhea ![]() -gigaducks as analůogues of giant herbivorous mammals |

I think that if yopu want big angry herbivorous birds, it's better to start with the ones who use flight less and weigh more. Escaped chickens, in all seriousness? |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

The bones, tendons, muscles and ligaments of a bird aren't good at supporting large weight, hence why the largest have been teratorn or terror bird size. |

Actually the biggest bird was the Giant Moa at 15 feet tall, but that was because it had an extremely long neck. And the reason flying birds can't get get bigger than Teratornis because their wings are useless. They have low wing space and the legs are just a weigh down during flight. Some people think that birds can't even fly at 20 feet wingspan, and that Teratornis and Argentavis were flightless. |

The picture is from Spec. Bipedal penguins are impossible. A fully aquatic or an ambush predator penguin is more likely. But why are we talking about this in Bexi's project? |
