Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I need help with redoing this project...lot of future projects looks similarly, with most fauna is descendants of animals like goats, coyotes racoons or pigs and i am always frustrated when i want to develop something that is plausible, but at end looks like todays fauna, for example i want to replace deers with something new,but deers are too succesfull and they will propably rule forest in near future too (as near,i take period from holocene to about 50 MYF) or small cats are very adaptibile and succesfull too,so its possible they give rise to ,,neo big cats,, or foxes evolve into wolf like things(if improve social behaviour) or giant langomorphs or south american rodents are cliché too.THis is my first project and i dont want to delete it,but only drasticaly rebuild it....what do you think?

You can always make a v2 project. For it you can extend the time zone, or do things like tetrapod extinction.

ï just want to keep project more plausible, things like mice, shrews or lizard are great survivors..maybe future earth where mammals are not dominant megafauna, but share their kingdom with reptiles, birds and maybe new class of vertebrates(propably descendant of mammals, but i think that they will stay small)

i say i want do it plausible, monotremes are too specialized, but there is no animal in australia that competes with them,so they survives.Human extinction push world back to paleocene levels, mammals taht survive will be almost all small and new families will rise from them.

how about era,in which will be this project situated?how about 50 MYF? and what about world geography?

1 MYF
Yellowstone supervolcano erupted, that causes ice age, great extinction and eventually extinction of humans too(if they not leave earth)
5 MYF
Ice age ends, forest now grows at their original places(easter part of north america, almost all europe is covered by deep forests)
Many small unspecialized animals starts to fill empty niches, forests is roamed by dog sized shrews, strange rodents that looks like Old world spineless porcupines and ground birds. One group of bats evolves to fill some niches of predatory birds.
20 MYF
World is becoming more hot.Antarctica moves to north and first forests grows in coastal areas.Placentals and Marsupials from south america colonises it,alongside with many birds.Soith america breaks from North america.Mediterran sea is no more,Atlas mountains became higher and longer and at east point is joined with Great Pontic mountains.Asia collides with North america at east.
Last carnives and ingulates goest extinct and are replaced by various animals, including marsupials.Newcomers in this eara are omnivorous, racoon sized tenrecs,Mollucs eating sea rats and viviparous lizards.
40 MYF
Euramerica (europe, asia and north america) is fully formed.Climate is going down, grasslands become more common.
New hoofed mammals evolves from some kind of insectivores.

By 1MYF, humans will be unimaginable. It's best not to speculate on civilisation at that stage.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

1 MYF
1) Yellowstone supervolcano erupted, that causes ice age, great extinction and eventually extinction of humans too(if they not leave earth)
Yellowstone will just make every part of the USA west of the Mississippi uninhabitable for a hundred years or so and launch the world in a nuclear winter. Supervolcano eruptions happened before, but never caused a mass extinction (except for the deccan traps in Siberia 300 million years ago, but that was a lot stronger than Yellowstone).

20 MYF
Mediterran sea is no more,

It will be no more in 5 million years.

The Deccan traps may only have been a small contribution, compared to other factors.

It will be no more in 5 million years.

you have time machine? In this scenario mediterran sea vaporized somewhere between 10-15 MYF and create large salt desert, but in 20 MYF there is no salt desert(except few salt lakes) and plains starts overgrow former floor of sea

and you forgot that Mass extinction causes more factors(humankind-wars etc.supervolcano, ice age etc.)

Ice Ages never caused a mass extinction, and a supervolcano can't cause an Ice Age.

The Mediterranean will be closed and Lemuria will split within 5 million years. Geologists can prove that.
