Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I think I had an orgasm watching these...

Seriously, I really want to see this documentary. Too bad I don't know Japanese at all... Is there an English version anywhere?

I was geared up for this. An anime based off of "After Man"?! AWESOME!
Granted, it's still cool, but...lacking.

And now I see the documentary! Impressive! Why haven't I seen this before?

I don't know, it has probably been limited to Japan like a lot of stuff from before Japan's burst into popular culture. I'm having trouble finding any version of the Konpeki no Kantai, let alone a subbed one.

I don't even know where to look for it, I mean I can't even find the 3rd series of Space Battleship Yamato, let alone obscure after man anime.

From what I understand, there is no Anime series with "After Man", just this music video that aired in a Japanese kid's educational show...

The documentary, though, looks AWSOME!!!!

Minna no Uta.

And it seems I was wrong, since it was not actually an educational show, but just music videos that aired between programs.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:

Minna no Uta (みんなのうた?), literally Everyone's Songs, is a five minute NHK TV and radio program broadcasting several times daily since 1961. The program is generally used as filler at the end of regular television programs. While many of the episodes are aimed at children, a large percentage are not, so the program enjoys a wide audience.

The program is used to introduce new songs from popular and new singers, as well as to highlight the talents of various animators and directors. A list of upcoming and currently-airing episodes is listed monthly in magazines such as Animage and Newtype.

More info, and complete list of songs: Minna no Uta - Wikipedia

Interesting. The documentary is awesome BTW. I wanted to make a dinosaur documentary with my toys when I was a kid.

So, we can only count on the good will of a fansubber.
But who would do a documentary?
