| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! How about posting our Spore Planets here, and compilate them in an Encyclopedia-like thing showing the "vast galactic discoveries" made by the members of the forum? |

The Grox stop fighting you if you kill enough of them. They can only live on planets with a T-Score of 0, so just adding some atmosphere kills them. But make sure you have lots of energy boosts and the shield (it makes you indestructible for a short period of time). Also, try to become a scientific civilization, because your special thing becomes Gravity Wave, which instantly destroys all cities on a planet. Oh, and don't use the planet buster. Seriously, all of your alliances collapse. Also, place colonies outside your little area of the galaxy. Expanding isn't a good as it seems; you end up have to do too much diplomacy. I control almost an entire arm of the galaxy, and defending it isn't as hard as you'd think. Just place an uber turret on every planet; they can't be destroyed. Funding is also a big issue; I can't make enough money. There has to be third world planets just for others to exist; I don't want that. But I have placed colonies on Earth, the tip of a spiral arm, and a few hundred light-years outside the galaxy (difficult to get to). They just kind of do their own thing and you don't have to pay for anything if you terraform them completely. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

I've got my little Chobs. They're small scarab-like sentient creatures. They use bio-technology to travel from solar system to solar system. Instead of having their territory expanded, they have a small empire in 5 or 6 solar systems. |

I just use the "moremoney" cheat. I end up with millions of sporebucks. If an enemy has a planet that I want, I take it over, and when they declare war, I just pay the bribe. Simple. I've taken over entire civilisations before by doing this. |

i switch to scientist or zealot and grill 'em. Grox? I use pulsers and 'refillmotives'. In their space i pause before heading to a sytem. My empire is a few systems scattered across the galaxy. I ignore pirates. War is easy with missiles and a few air strikes. But i have 12 space-faring civilisations- and i can't get back onto spore. |

I'm bummed out because I just spent the past hour playing creature stage with my omnivore save, getting from half-way through to just before completion. I think I had one more creature to ally or defeat in order to progress to tribal. However, my creature was instead defeated. Instead of it taking me back to my nest, the game completely crashed. Now I have to start again from the middle of creature stage and now I just can't be bothered, don't want to play it any more. -_- Edited by KayKay, Feb 1 2010, 04:02 AM.

lol I understand you. My game crashes every time I get killed. So I try not to. My game also suffers from lags, like decoloration of the game models and a blurry map. |

For some reason the game always crashes for me in the space stage. Not right away but eventually, usually when going into a planets atmosphere, and morel likely still if there is combat involved. I have made quite a few creatures though, the tribal stage is rather fun. |

I think that the tribal stage lacked some things. If I was Will Wright (Creator of spore), I would fuse the tribal and civilization stage in a whole new Empire Earth-like stage. |

Well it's not perfect, and I think it could be longer. But it's still enjoyable for me. I'll check my creatures out soon. |

I would change pretty much everything except for the Creature Stage. That one's cool. I even have planets in which my creatures are able to pass to tribal but I don't want to, so I stay in creature. |

I agree. While each level has its pros and cons, I think my favorite one is creature stage, seconded by tribal. |

When I reach space, I'll have some themed planets to contribute to your encyclopaedia. Creatures that appear to have a similar evolutionary history on the same planet, and often with the use of the creature tweaker to derive an evolutionary tree. Maybe others could join in on that if they wished? |
