Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

They can't say it screamed until they find its skull.
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

Again, Spec predicted reality, as the idea of secretary bird like screamers was already canon for a while

Screamer is a type of bird, it does not matter what this animal sounded like.

Indeed; I think the intention was that this bird is a screamer relative, not that it screamed

Oh. I thought it was about screaming. Was it actually related to today's screamers though? And how do they know it ran circles around dinosaurs?

So anything that's fast runs in circles?

Its not to be taken literally. In any case modern birds like the secretary and the seriemas do use a circulaing motion occasionally

I apologise, iwas being rather facetious and picky.

So, how did it fit in the food chain?

I suppose it was exactly like the modern secretary bird or the roadrunner

Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the Earth.

So this thing figuritively ran circles around dinos?

I read the description on the site, and frankly I'm not seeing it. Could someone please explain how this thing "ran circles" around the Gobi desert's dinos?

My pont exactly. I think they mean it was able to evade the dinosaurs' attacks.

You know how articles can be stupid. Most likely they meant the bird around eating babay dinosaurs, but they thought "around" meant that it walked in circles
