Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

I'm making a fictional island with animals from mid-late cretaceous period north america that survived in there as the island moved to the ecuator in the middle of the pacific ocean.

Here's a map:

My main problem right now is: Is it plausible for pterosaurs to survive in this island?

No. I'm just polishing the concepts I allready have. I'm drawing their anatomy (Muscles, bones, and skin), as well as the activities they do during the course of the day (Feeding, Defence, Hunting, etc.). This might take a while, and there's still alot of niches open. If someone has any idea, please tell me. (I need animals specially for the highlands. They're almost empty)

Well, you could base a mountain species on the Gladiadon;

The bird population of the island is a combination of Hesperornithes in the costal regions and Enantiornithes and Ichthyornithes in the rest of the island.

I made a terror-bird Enantiornith, and I won't be mad if you use it, as long as it isn't exactly like the Therobird.
