Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Creotards might have some hard time disproving this piece of evidence. For all I know they'll probably just invade the Galapagos and kill em all :(

Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the Earth.

They believe in natural selection, so this isn't too shattering to the creationist movement. They just don't recognize natural selection as evolution.

It's still a finch! It did not turn into a dog so you agree with Hitler and Stalin.

But this is pretty interesting. Nice find.

Who are you saying is like Hitler and Stalin?

If you're saying me, that info is directly from the creation museum. :shudder:

For your information, Stalin, despite being an atheist, opposed evolution almost as much as religion; he hated "Western science." And Hitler. . .oh, I don't even WANT to get started on this one. He seems to have been a lot of things, but a dedicated evolutionist isn't one of them.

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

I saw this. Ironic that it's a finch, which was Darwin's example in The Origin of Species.

Are you plausible?

No kidding. Maybe we should just forget the rest of the planet and focus on these islands for important news on this front. Perhaps Galapagos deserves a spec project devoted to just how wild things will get there... :)

A brother and sister mated with each other and all their children did the same, so they're interbreeds.

But at least they're inbreeders with style :P

But yes, the Galapagos should be watched more closely. Its a very recent environment, and finches are among the last denizens to get there, so perhaps its just a matter of time until they end up like Hawaii's finches, with nectar drinkers and other things

Terror finches, perhaps?
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.
