Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

This is a topic on all the worlds of Nintendo, Konami, and Sega. We will look at the biology, evolutionary history, and then post drawings of possible real-life versions of these characters. This is in the Habitable Zone, because alot of these characters are aliens.

Okay. If this topic covers only the Mario 'verse, maybe we should rename it to make that clear, because now it seems like it includes all video game topics--and that would include Pokemon.

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

Right now we're supposed to speculate about the Marioverse. The other Nintendo universes are coming up next.

Pokemon is Nintendo so that would make no difference.

And as for changing the topic again it is pointless this is for all games. But it is currently focused on nintendo so it doesn't become a confusing mad house.

The Mario Brothers Movie has nothing to do with the game.

Well Yoshi is winning the poll, so how would male Yoshi lay eggs?

I think the eggs are a quick drying cement cage that the yoshis trap prey in for later or trap predators in until they escape.

Now we're getting somewhere. Giant head? Quickness of organic glue prodution? Five fingered hands?

The giant head is caused by the inabillity of Dinosaurs to have large brains to head/body size(not including Birds). The five finguered hands mean that these are very archaic having started to diverge from Dinosaurs before they lost their other finguers. This also means they are very convergent on each others body designs.

Also The glue production depends on the predators of the species. If they have pack hunting predators they have more glue and produce it faster. or the reverse happens and yoshis only have enough for one predator.

What if Yoshi are carninvorous pro-sauropods? That would explain the five fingered hands.

That is unlikely though they could be a carnivorous group in between Therapods and Sauropods. It would be closer to theropods though. And it would be a brainless long necked Dinosaur with a itty bitty head if it were a Sauropod any thing.
