Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

This is a topic on all the worlds of Nintendo, Konami, and Sega. We will look at the biology, evolutionary history, and then post drawings of possible real-life versions of these characters. This is in the Habitable Zone, because alot of these characters are aliens.

Well the heads are still big, it's the shape that will have a few changes.

If you change the head it is not a Yoshi because that is it's dominant characteristic. Basicly I wouldn't.

Also I did notice we are the only ones posting which is weird.

And your right it does not need a source for the pink.

I doubt they would Change the shape of their head. Instead creating better dentition for their niches.

And why the heck do Want it to be a filter feeder when there are better solutions?

Another thing is that Yoshi Island has to be Near the Muchrrom kingdom which is in Europe a less tropical area with no connection to Africa.

If not then Mario has dark skin along with the rest of his freinds.

Who said Yoshi's Island had to be close to Eurasia? I put it some where in the Atlantic so that it's be close to D.K.'s Isle. And Yoshisaurus could be imported to the Mushroom Kingdom.

True but your the one who brought up it's recent proximity to Africa. And they are featured alot more in the Europian style Mario games. Another thing is that if it was close to Donkey Kong they would inevitably share fauna which could wipe out the last Dinosaurs on the Island(the Yoshi's) either from the Kongs or from better more diverse Dinosaurs. Another issue is that Yoshi Island has a very Yoshi based ecosystem meaning that the Kong Isle's Fauna and flora would wipe the Yoshi Island habitat out.

The islands are close, but but far enough away form each other that they haven't come into contact. Yet. D.K.'s Isle is close to Central Africa, while Yoshi's Island is a bit farther away, having seperated from Africa 64.5 million years ago.

Well you just defeated your Shrimp idea.

And those Islands would be quite far away from Africa if it split that long ago heck maybe it is part of Iceland(for warmth and European closeness) Or even America(Near a Midevil reinacting town maybe)?

Where did the dinosaur you suggested for being Yoshi's ancestor come from?

I am not sure honestly where Therozinosaurs are from though I think the primative species are either American or Chinese.

I just read the dinosaur's Wikipedia page. It lived in Utah, nowhere near a fault line the could make an island. We need a new ancestor for Yoshisaurus.

Or a migration from Utah, but a new ancestor would be good.

Try to think of an omnivore with little feather covering. My Dinosaur knowledge took the highway years ago.

omnivorous, featherless dinosaur, you say? How about a heterodontosaur?

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

That could work but don't they have beaks?

I honestly have little info on them so I can't say the quality of the choice.
