| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! A good point, (that's what my nereid plants use it for, actually), and the biochemistry is a good point; a byproduct of some inherent process of their photosynthesis. Any other ideas for what plants could use bioluminescence for besides attracting pollinators? |

Maybe? |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

I guess that depends on your definition of plant. ![]() Incidentally, according to that Avatar wikia you linked us to, the helicoradian is part animal and apart plant. Go figure! |

Plants don't use phycobilins and chlorophyll c, algae do As Animal Kingdom Plant Kingdon is exclusively multicelular, most part of algae are unicelular Algae are made of simillar cells, all with the same structure so they don't have organs, all plants have organs. Yep seems helicoradian is an animal, on tavotrio these animals have to move, because the sade don't move (tidaly locked) so if they want that their algae recive light they need to reajust their position all the time, because others get in front of them. |
