Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

http://pterosaur.net/

This site, made by no others than my favourite paleoartists no less, pretty much has everything a person probably needs to know about pterosaurs. I wish it was complete (some pictures are missing), and I also wish they included the hypothesis pterosaurs might be related to drepanosaurs, but otherwise its excellent.

Thats a good site, personally I think pterosaurs are overdue for a make over since a lot of people are still stuck with the idea of giant, ocean-going creatures.

Indeed what pterosaurs need the most is to have people taking them seriously. Either they are widely thought of as huge albatrosses or as evil bat winged monsters that pick things with their feet, but there is still hope.

If I could do an animated movie, I'd have azhdarchids used a mounts

I agree, films have put in a image of them as huge flying monsters and that hasn't changed for ages and it probably won't change unless someone makes a successful movie with an accurate representation of pterosaurs.

Any volunteers?
Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea.

azdarchids as mounts? well, there's always the Skybax Riders in Dinotopia, who fly around on Quetzalcoatlus.

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.
