| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! First of all... hi! This is my first post on this forum (wow). Um, yeah. So anyway, about Vabmojer... Vabmojer is an alien world which I have made with several of my friends. It is an earthlike planet, but we have done our best to make the animals as un-earthlike as possible. We are working on a website, although right now it is not complete. Still, feel free to have a look! (And I apologise in advance for the artwork - I'm not the best drawer ever) Type this in the address box; www.vabmojer.bravehost.com See what you think! |

Well, the Trophille hunts using hydraulic jumping-spider-type legs. It hides itself in the sparse undergrowth (and I mean, sparse) and then leaps out on on unsuspecting rocksprinters, grabbing them and securing them with two arms on top and one arm underneath, before burying its' jaws into the hapless creature. The droph, on the other hand, is more omnivorous and opportunistic. It will happily eat the blue plants if nothing else is available, but they have powerful noses. If a creature is dying, or a Rattler has made a kill, they are there very quickly. They have hyena-like jaws, and two or three of them on a carcass usually means there will be nothing left but bloodstains by the time they're finished. |

Well, the idea is that as the creature has these sensory hairs to navigate with, it wouldn't need to flick its' tongue out to taste the air. As the largest animal in the Chozo Wastes is the Flesh-Bear, there is no need for anything more effective. The picture shows the animal in its' summer coat (sorry, I should have explained this), and so in the winter its' fur turns white as camouflage, so it can sneak up on prey. Any more questions welcome. The Dino's should be coming online very soon. |

Ddraig Goch... keep up the trophile and don't let Empy get you down. If it's not impossible, it's in my head. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Somehow that was encouraging. (?) Still, thanks. Curiously, what is in your head? You make it sound like there's a whole new dimension in there. (Which, now that I come to think of it, there probably is)
