| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. You know the alien. That face hugging, acid dripping, stomach bursting, cantankerous creature of HR Giger's fantastic imagination. We're talking about Ellen Ripley's nemesis and Ridley Scott's meal ticket. Terrifying and slightly resembling your boss, she has made an indelible impression on movie-goers for 30 years. Unfortunately that impression has been watered down as this ferocious beast of deep space has never been explaned. For this we want how it works. Is the facehugger, chestbuster, monster a working idea? Could it evolve? What good is it? So here is where to post ANYTHING that has to do with this space monster. |

At this point you might as well make them Zombie Facehuggers that lay Were-Xenomorph eggs that would be awsome and scary though they would need to be bioengineered probably by Vampires looking for better day gaurds! I just invented an evil world that you make an awsome series, I can imagine the humans that are left being ruled by a Vampire goverment with a public cover simular to umbrella corp! |

sam: it's okay to veer off topic. If you haven't noticed, every single topic veers off. I'm glad you're trying to stick to the rules, but there is a difference between following rules and too strictly following the rules. That is all. |

How would they get their "penis shaped heads" as yellow says in the hole? |

Well, my theory is that the big ol' penis-heads (Oh, H.R. Giger, we love you and your phaolli) house their echolocation organ. It's huge, extensive, and sensative.

But if the were burrowers sonar would be pretty useless so they won't need such large wang heads. |

Thay could send vibrations in the ground, and wait for bounce backs. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

Moles use a vibrational direction sense while underground to find worms and stuff, maybe it's a throwback to whatever sort of creature they were originally. Plus, burrowing would explain why they love dark, narrow tunnels so much. |

They do seem to have a fondness for dark narrow places full of suspense. I still don't know how useful sonar would be, but the melon/head wang would probably be good for picking up vibrations without the clicks. I have been thinking about what would happen if these buggers got loose on earth and created a scenario that I think is plausible. Imagine a zombie apocalypse only much, much worse. Here is the link to it http://lamnay.deviantart.com/art/Xenomorph-Invasion-Map-145472492 I think that without any large animals left to breed in that the xenomorphs would eventually die and the eggs be left to infect anything trying to recolonize the area that was not careful. What do you think would happen to the environments if something like this happened? |
