| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! I still occassionly post at a site (Or two) where animal rights and 'proper' diet come up regularly. Had some wild threads.... A regular debate comes up regarding the diet that's easiest on the environment, the more vocal animal-rightists of course maintaining no- animal products is the way to go therein. When a study was dug up suggesting a low or so called 'flexian' diet might actually be less environmentally damaging, more then a few mean posts were fired back and forth. Since then, the so-called 'blue-zones' have sorta entered into the debate. If you've been reading my story(shameless hint placed here) I don't personally have any problem with being a omnivorve. |

(LOL)! Actually; researchers got to poking around and found a small number of human communities where the life-span was unusually long. They did some looking into and found a few things these places had in common. Positive family interaction No-smoking plant-based diet(Basically for most of the locals, a flexian diet...low-meat rather then no-meat) Regular moderate activites(Work or exercise) Social engagement(Getting out and connecting to the rest of the community) Legumes( My take on this is; they that fart a lot, live a lot) Note: some have mentioned the genetics could have been researched better. But I found it interesting so many similar points could be found. |

I saw some stuff on the same study (well, I read an article about, focusing on one example but only mentioning similarities), they seemed to all take afternoon naps, were a very social culture, and hadn't developed any real concept of 'dead-lines', things got done when they got done. Sounds like a relative paradise to me. |

Forgive me for saying this, but I love your wife. She hates beans. I hate beans. Life on Earth can't live without them, but I just hate 'em. |
