| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous. Join our community today! |

It's not news for me to say I haven't been active here. But I do have some news: I will be stepping down as administrator of the site and I will promote someone to admin in my place. I haven't decided who the new admin will be, so for now, I will remain the administrator. |

I object this action. You simply cannot abandon your own forum completely, let alone drop your own position as an administrator (my main qualm)! I just feel that the founder (AKA, member #1) of a forum should be administrator for the whole life of the forum. I am not against appointing Parasky, we could always use a new administrator, and he may just fit the position perfectly. While I understand that you may have real-life problems to deal with or that you may simply be bored of this place, but really, dropping your own position is (no offense) a ridiculous move, in my opinion at least. |

I can give him back admin powers at any time he wants, it's not like I would deny him full control of his own forum. He has other things going on in his life and quite honestly this forum probably isn't at the top of his priority list. Also he probably won't see your post for a long time; he couldn't even guarantee me that he would come visit every now and then. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

I'm sure you can, but I honestly don't understand why you would drop your own position, considering that you are the founder? I feel that abandoning this forum for a preferred time span is enough, no need to drop your position, nor abandoning it permanently. And if he cares so little about this place anymore as to not reading my post, at least, I can post a version of my post on his deviantART recent journal entry, though I see little point in doing that anyway, so never mind. |

GBA, I have not completely abandoned this site. I will continue visiting, hopefully is greater frequency. And I didn't really want to announce this, but I did give myself staff powers before I removed my administrative powers. |

Sorry, I just find it hard to accept change sometimes, since I have autism. But thank you for not abandoning this site completely!

Why do important things always happen when I have computer troubles? My fault for having computer troubles all the time. Congrats Parasky, and Will (I'm pretty sure this was your original username) I hope you will at least visit the forums from time to time. |

I wish I could give the public a true picture of the queen as she appeared at her best, but this would be impossible, even had she permitted a photograph to be taken, for her charming play of expression while in conversation, the character and intellect which were then revealed, were only half seen when the face was in repose. -Lilias Underwood when speaking of Empress Myeongseong "I was born in the dark. I went out into the light, and your Majesty, it is my displeasure to inform you that I have returned to the dark. I envision a Seoul of towering buildings filled with Western establishments that will place herself back above the Japanese barbarians. Great things lie ahead for the Kingdom, great things. We must take action, your Majesty, without hesitation, to further modernize this still ancient kingdom."-Min Young-ik to Empress Myeongseong | |
