Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

This is a new project I'm doing. I plan to "visit" many planets with life in them and make a field guide. I'm not gonna make all of the species and describe all of the biomes of the planets, but I can still describe one or two ecosystems per planet. I would also like to do a game a la pokemon snap (That game from the nintendo 64 in which you had to photograph pokemon in their enviroment), but I'm still learning how to program games.
This is the backstory from "Planet Safari"

Backstory:
"I'm a zoologist, as well as an adventurer, and I have explored almost all corners of the Earth, but in my lifetime I never saw something as weird as the fauna and flora that I witnessed in this trip.
As I said before, I'm a man of adventure and risks, but the things that I encountered in this trip I made were just to crazy and twisted to be imagined by an ordinary human. Those creatures that I saw were the product of millions and millions of years of evolution, just like in Earth, but this creatures took a totally different path.
It all started when the IOEFF (International Organization of Extraterrestrial Fauna and Flora) called me for a strange propossal. They told me that they have finally discovered various planets with life in them, near the middle rim of the milky way. They needed someone like me to explore and research life in this planet before they made public this great discovery. I imediatly accepted this mission without knowing what was waiting for me in this planets. After a long journey, I make public my researchs on this planets about extraterrestrial life. Enjoy."

So this is basically about the journeys of a zoologist and explorer across this area of the galaxy full of planets with life, which I named "The ring of the Eden". I'm gonna start by describing the first planet. (By the way, all the planet's names are based on names of celestial bodies from the Cthulhu Mythos)

Planet Haddah:
Planet Haddah was the first of the planets that was discovered. The planet is sightly larger than Earth, it has an axis almost horizontal, an atmosphere with elements similar to the ones in Earth's atmosphere, and in the ground, the geosphere is surrounded by an amazing ammount of gold, which even makes some parts of the planet somewhat shiny from space.
Plant life in Haddah:
There's no such thing as plants in planet Haddah. There's some biological structures capable of phothosynthesis, but they're not plants. They're a new kingdom in life, with the appearance similar to a large stick full of grapes. They're from purple to red in color, and the "grapes" they have are actually full of a liquid that contains the "sperm" of this type of life, called "Fkwolks". When summer comes to Haddah, some of the grapes of the Fkwolk explode, and the sperm falls into the ground. The ground absorbs them and they start their trip to another place, most likely in moisty ground, when they develop better.
There's various phylums of Fwolks, including primitive and advanced acuatic fwolks, the bush fwolks, and even fwolks with acid sperm that prevents animals to eat the grapes.

I'll continue this later.

Animal Life in Haddah:
Animal kingdom in Haddah is also ruled by some sort of vertebrates, like in Earth. This strange animals have a common bodyplan: Their skeletons are more metallic-like, because they're also composed of silicon, and not just of carbon. Their "backbones" of the animals are actually placed in the middle of the body, instead of placed in the back. Their mouth is composed by the exterior mouth and the internal mouth.
The external is hard, composed of segmented structures much like an armadillo's shell. The interior mouth is composed by four tongues: Two thin, long tongues that are used for feeding, and other much more bigger tongues that produce heat to comunicate with other members of their species, since this animals sense the world with heat sensors instead of using eyes.
Vertebrates in Haddah also have 6 limbs instead of 4 like in Earth, and are composed in a similar way to the external mouth. Both the mouths and the legs are retractible, and they adopt this posture when sleeping.
There's various type of vertebrates in Haddah, like the Exocows and the Raptor-like Haddean Dragons.

Are you plausible?

I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by the inner and outer mouths. Can you explain?

Well, the external mouth is similar to the ones of the arthropods, and it's composed by segments (Two to Eight depending on the animal), like the shell of an armadillo. Once the food enters to the external mouth, it is separated. The food that is soft or the liquids are directly absorbed by the external mouth, while the more hard food is absorbed by an internal mouth inside the external one. The internal mouth also has inside of it the 4 tongues (two to use the sence of taste, like our tongue, and the other one produces heat to communicate, since this animals sence the heat of things to percive world).

If you still don't understand, I will upload a diagram of the anatomical study of one of this animals soon, probably on sunday.

I love how you completely blew my backstory out of the water by having yours over 300 years in the future. :D
The Dreaded AOL Dial-Up has left me afraid to spend more than 5 minutes posting at risk of losing it all. Arghhh.

Thanks :). I think that even if we're developing technology at a high level really fast, we still need to learn alot, and therefore we still need to wait those 300 or 400 years to travel to other planets with life, millions of light years distanced from Earth.

I agree. Unless you've got some really wild sci-fi tech going on, there's that pesky Light Speed Limit you have to take into account. In my story, for example, the humans don't set foot on the planet until 2452, not because they don't have the technology to do so, but because they sent LOTS of robot probes first, and there's quite the time lag across 19 light years...

Sorry. I was unable to upload images, so I'll have to wait until next sunday and see if I can upload them. Still, if there's people that is unable to understand any of these anatomical descriptions of the animals or plants, I can do a quickie drawing in MS paint so that you can have an idea.
