| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. No, I'm talking about something different. It's made by the same manufacturers that make the LRAD. And I meant the actual physical size of the weapon. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

Oh that thing. Does not sound like it has been a very useful weapon to fend of pirates. M1919 Browning's would be much more effective at repelling pirates, and they are pretty cheap as most nations are phasing them out. And this speaker grenade does not sound like it has many advantages over flash bangs, which also blind the opponent. It would not cause fires and could not cause wound someone if they picked it up, I suppose. |

You're right. I imagine that's why it's not used very often. And the LRAD is a little worthless, as all it requires is somebody putting on electronic ear protectors (nice little things that are fairly cheap and filter all sound over 80 decibels) and shooting at you. What do you do then, when your sound weapon is useless and you spent all your money on that instead of real weapons? |

Scuttle the ship, if the rightful owners are not getting the cargo nobody is, though modern pirates seem to prefer ransom. If you were not stupid then you could have taken out a few pirates and not be at the mercy of some who you just frustrated. Why would you need a non-lethal weapon at sea? I can see the value at riots but not in fending of damned pirates. Surely you want to kill them dead. |

That's what I've always thought. Especially when I watch that Whale Wars show; those people are just being dicks. Just because you don't support the destruction of whales doesn't mean you have the right to attack ships full of people who are just doing their job. I eagerly await the day that those people start messing around with the wrong ship and get an 80mm shell smashed into their bow. |

I know what you mean, sinking ships and hassling people won't turn public opinion. From what I here Sea Shepard's ships are damned dangerous with the most incompetent crew ever to sail the southern ocean. I would call the pirates, but I don't want to insult pirates by the comparison. Oh I do hope they attack Japanese civilians when the Hyūga is close by. |

I know how to make the bomb do everything you described. Make it an actual "Sonic Bomb". Make it play all the audio from every 3-D Sonic the Hedgehog game. The world would be at your mercy. |

Or not. The best way to use sound would be resonation- reonate evry water molecule in then persones body, heating them up to obliviopn, perhaps? But then you might as well use a modulated maser. |

Time flows like a river. Which is to say, downhill. We can tell this because everything is going downhill rapidly. It would seem prudent to be somewhere else when we reach the sea. "It is the old wound my king. It has never healed." | |

That sounds suspiciously impossible. People are always trying to come up with new weapons, at the end of the 19th century people were trying to use gas, and that came to very little. On the rare occasions it's useful it's horrific. I suspect that sonic waves will be similer to gas weapons, only very weak ones will be used to crowd control and otherwise they are useless. At the end of the day making objects hit people quickly still works best. |
